We had our birth class this past weekend. We enjoyed it and found it very informative. There were a few presenters on what to expect(pediatrician, lactation specialist, RN, and Cord Donor Rep). They also reviewed what we have to look foward to on the BIG day. Woo hoo!
We did get to go on a tour of the Taj Mahal of Reston. Seriously, what woman in labor cares if there is mahogany cabinetry above her head while in labor? But hey, we have it. Plus, I get one free massage while staying there. I like that feature. :)
Also, Jeff got to practice diapering and swaddling our 20lb. "infant."(It wasn't really 20 lbs. but it was a BIG pretend baby.) It was pretty amusing to watch. The baby did have blue eyes, so we are hoping that was an omen.
The class definitely opened our eyes to the fact that this is approaching faster than I think either of us expected. But of course we are both exstatic for Gabriella to arrive. That anticipation is certainly growing more and more as the weeks go by. (12 weeks to go: in theory)
