Soothing the Wild Beast

So for the second night in a row we listened to round 4 of the Fisher Price Rainforest Soother. It has three lovely songs that go on for about 5 minutes or so. You watch a monkey, fish, and frog rock back and forth beside a soothing waterfall. We thought this was a fabulous gift. Gabbie has fallen asleep to it since she was an infant. We have had the melodies memorized since the first month. I can't even tell you how many times I have fallen asleep to the music myself while soothing Gabbie to sleep.

Now let's put this in perspective. Gabriella has listened to her Rainforest Soother every night since she has been in her crib. That is about 500+ nights of three lovely songs that go on for about 5 minutes or so, while watching a monkey, fish, and frog rock back and forth beside a soothing waterfall. 500+ nights!!!!! Oh wait, it gets even better. Like I said before, we listened to round 4 tonight. She has now decided to continue playing the music over and over again until she falls asleep. So just as it gets quiet and we think she is asleep, the first song of the lovely three starts up all over again.
The batteries ran out the other night and we debated letting it go for a night or two. Until Gabbie kept pressing the button and it would go on for 5 sec. and stop. She kept doing this confused why it wasn't working. Rather than allow the poor thing to carry on, we helped her out and put new batteries in.
"Go to sleep....Close your eyes...Tomorrow is a new day..."

That is too cute! I love that she presses it herself. Riley is a sound machine baby and we all get to listen to ocean sounds every night. :)
