So I was grading some papers over the weekend, and came across some interesting answers in my 2nd grader's packets about Virginia. Mind you, we had already gone over these answers before they did this packet.
Here are some of my favorites:
What is the capital of Virginia? (Richmond)
- compass rose
- Richardson
- the star
What is the name of the mountain range that runs through Virginia? (The Appalachian Mtns.)
- The Apple Mountains
What is the name of our country?
- Fairfax....this is the county we are in
- North
- Vagina....yes that's how it was spelled
Needless to say, I had a good chuckle. Yet, I ask myself, what were they doing while I taught this?
